CATS AND DOGS
In order to be admitted into the Brazilian territory, pets (dogs and cats) must have a veterinary health certificate signed by a licensed veterinarian and verified by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency.
The certificate will only be valid upon declaration by a licensed veterinarian that the animal has been examined within ten (10) days prior to departure and found clinically healthy and free of external parasites.
Rabbies vaccination must be done on animals over 3 months of age and, if in the case of the first vaccination, it must be applied at least 30 days prior to the animals’ arrival and must be valid for one year.
According to Decree 6.946, of August 21, 2009, it is no longer necessary that the veterinary health certificate for cats and dogs from Canada be legalized by the Consulate-General of Brazil in Toronto.
BIRDS
Bird admittance to Brazil has been temporarily suspended.
