Temporary Visa III

1. REQUIREMENTS

ELIGIBILITY

1.1. Conditions:

a) paid participation in athletic or performing arts event.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

1.2. Work authorization by Ministry of Labor in Brazil is required prior to visa application.

1.3. This visa is good for multiple entries within the visa's duration. Please note that even when the validity of the visa exceeds 90 days, authorized stays are for a maximum of 90 days per visit (if necessary, an extension may be issued by the Federal Police in Brazil, if requested prior to the expiration of the authorized stay).

1.4. Brazilian nationals must enter and leave Brazil with their Brazilian passport only.

DOCUMENTS REQUIRED AND PROCEDURES

1.5. One visa application form per applicant properly filled out online (https://scedv.serpro.gov.br), printed and duly signed (parents must sign for those under 18 years old and have their signature notarized), together with the following documentation:

a) passport with a minimum remaing validity of six months (it must also have at least 2 blank pages available);

b) One recent photograph 5cmx5cm ( 2”x 2”) of applicant.  Please glue the photograph on the form as indicated;

  PHOTOGRAPH SPECIFICATIONS
 
  - The picture must be taken against an off-white plain background.
  - The applicant’s face and shoulders must be centralized on the camera and he or she must be looking into the camera.
  - No reflections, shadows or glares are accepted in the picture.

- The length from the bottom of chin to the top of the head must be between 31 and 36mm (millimetres) in heigth.

- The facial expression must be neutral.

- The eyes must be open and clearly visible.

- Glasses should not reflect any light. Neither sunglasses nor colorful frames are acceptable (no sunglasses or colored lens accepted).
  - No head covering, excepting the ones used for religious reasons as long as they still enable the perfect visibility of the applicant’s face.
  - Children carrying toys, with pacifier or showing the hands of the adult holding them will not be accepted.

c) letter from sponsoring organization, clearly stating the precise nature of the event;

d) Yellow fever vaccination is NOT OBLIGATORY. Nevertheless, vaccination certificate against yellow fever is recommended if applicant's destination in Brazil includes any of the following  states or regions:  Acre, Amapá, Amazonas, Pará, Rondônia, Roraima, Tocantins, Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso do Sul, Goiás, the Federal District (including Brasilia), Maranhão, southwest of Piauí, west and extreme south of Bahia, Minas Gerais, west of São Paulo, north of Espírito Santo, west of Paraná (including Iguazu Falls), west of Santa Catarina and west of Rio Grande do Sul. The cities of São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro are not included in this list.

e) appropriate payments, as applicable.

1.6. The requirements listed are not all-inclusive. When processing a visa submission, the Consulate may request additional information/documentation.

CONSULAR FEES

1.7. The consular fee for a Temporary Visa III is of Cnd$ 50.00, which must be paid by means of money order or certified cheque to the “Consulate General of Brazil in Toronto”.

Cash, personal cheques, credit card or debit card will not be accepted.

An  administrative fee of Cnd $187.50 must be paid by bearers of U.S. passports due to reciprocity.

1.8. The Consulate will accept visa submissions by a third party other than the applicant. In this case an extra fee of Cnd$ 25,00 must be added.

1.9. The Consulate cannot and will not recommend travel/services firms and makes it clear that all of them receive same identical treatment by the Visa Section of this Consulate. It is wise therefore to shop around and compare costs in case you use a travel/services firm. Minimum processing time is 10 (ten) business days, assuming all requirements are met. This does not include mailing time.

PROCESSING TIME

The minimum processing time for a visa is 10 (ten) working days, depending on the demand, not included the days used by the services provided by Canada Post. Urgent cases will be analyzed by the Consulate and will be accommodated within its possibilities WITHOUT ANY EXTRA FEES, as usual. It is important that urgent cases be presented personally. The Consulate will not recognize urgency when presented through a third party. The Consulate cannot recommend travel/visa services firms and makes it clear that all of them receive same treatment by the Visa Section of this Consulate.

Before contacting the Consulate please check the status of your application online (https://scedv.serpro.gov.br). You should see “ready for collection” before you come to the Consulate in person for pick up. 

APPLICATIONS BY MAIL

The same requirements above apply plus a pre-paid and self-addressed envelope (only Canada Post "Xpresspost", "Priority Courier" or "Registered Mail" will be accepted) and a processing fee of Cnd$ 25,00  per person (money order or certified cheque payable to the Consulate-General of Brazil in Toronto).
